Welcome to my homepage! I am an Associate Professor of Finance at the School of Business, University of Northern British Columbia. I hold a Ph.D. in Finance from University of Manitoba (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada), a Master’s degree in Management from Clemson University (Clemson, South Carolina, USA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (Dalian, Liaoning, China). I am also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. 

My research focuses on sustainable finance, asset pricing, and international finance. Within these fields, my work explores key areas, including climate change, corporate social responsibility, renewable energy, political uncertainty, idiosyncratic volatility, stock return predictability, and portfolio management. My research has been recognized with the prestigious University Excellence in Research Award and has been supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, Statistics Canada, Mitacs, the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions, and the Real Estate Foundation of British Columbia. Additionally, my research has been presented at major finance conferences.

I serve as an editor for Investment Analysts Journal, a subject editor for Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, and an associate editor for Asia-Pacific Financial Markets, among other editorial responsibilities. In addition, I actively contribute to the academic community by serving as a reviewer for esteemed journals, participating as a committee member in academic conferences, and reviewing national research grants. Outside of academia, I serve as the Vice President of the UNBC Childcare Society board, where I contribute to enhancing childcare services and support for families in our community.

My teaching experience extends to a wide spectrum of undergraduate and graduate courses, including the supervision of MSc, MBA, and B.Com Honours students. I am interested in teaching Investment, Portfolios Management, Corporate Finance, International Finance and Personal Financial Planning.
